ABOUT 

EMILIA MENOCAL

Founder & Creative Director

Emilia Menocal was born in New York City to Cuban parents and raised in Paris, France. She is Fluent in Spanish, French and English with working knowledge of Italian. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in political science, she began her career in public relations and marketing in New York City working for Christian Dior at LVMH. After a successful career in fashion, Emilia transitioned to filmmaking where she directed the critically acclaimed documentary East of Havana produced by Academy award winner Charlize Theron.
 
In 2004, Emilia returned to New York City and began working with renown hotelier André Balazs. Emilia oversaw the cultural development of the Standard brand, the programming and marketing strategies for the entire Balazs portfolio including the Chateau Marmont, the Mercer and the Raleigh hotel. As the cultural engineer for the company, Emilia managed events, marketing collaborations and ideation for food and beverage partnerships.
 
In 2015, Emilia moved to Miami to continue her hospitality consulting, conceptualizing and over seeing the development of the successful cabaret El Tucán and numerous other hospitality projects. EAMSTUDIO represents a culmination of years working at the epicenter of fashion, hospitality and cultural development.
